With summer behind us and winter just around the corner, its time to start thinking about that new wardrobe. Autumn is a great season to start dressing up again. The sun is still out, but we can layer up and dust off our sports jacket and business suits and let them breathe a new life. If you’re in need of an update, consider one of my made to measure three piece suits, you won’t be disappointed.
This is my latest cab of the rank, and I absolutely love it. Why you ask? Well it has all the usual trimmings; a gorgeous charcoal Prince of Wales Super 130 cloth (with a subtle burgundy window pane), a full canvas construction, working button holes, hand finished pick stitched detail, horn buttons and even a hand made lapel button hole. But the reason behind my new found fondness for this number, well there are a few. Firstly, the notch lapel is at 10cm, that’s a bit wider than most. Secondly the waistcoat is a scoop neck and sits just in line with the break of the lapel and thirdly, and this is the main one, the trousers are pleated. Yes, I am embracing the pleat. I have been doing so sparingly for some time now, but this season, Autumn is all about the inverted pleat.
The other reason why I love this particular Autumn so much, is my new range of Italian hand made silk ties and pocket squares. Hand made in Como, this collection is very limited, and the ties consist of options in Grenadine, Shantung silk and Dupion. You really need to come in and see them for yourself. The printed silk pockets squares are actually mini pieces of art, they are far too beautiful to stuff in your pocket, but you’re not exactly going to wear on you head are you? Or are you?
