Welcome to another instalment of my Catch Up Series with Alan from Ferrari. Alan is part of of the sales team at Zagame’s mecca to Ferrari in Melbourne. Over many conversations Alan and I discussed everything from bespoke suits to our travels and of course the famed Italian sport car company that he works for. Alan invited me into their Richmond show room for a bit of a look around, and to say I was blown away is under statement. These graceful machines are incredible, their sleek lines and attention to detail simply beautiful and the power they possess are intoxicating. I have my eye on the Ferrari Portofino V8 GT. It’s the sexy entry model into the brand, but I love it. Of corse, I’ll need to see about 400,000 new suits to be able to by one, but theres no harm in wishing.
Below are a few questions I put to Alan during our catch up. I hope you enjoy.
- What was your most recent Carl Navè purchase and how do you like to wear it?
My most recent purchase was a made to measure Shark Skin Grey three piece suit which I rotate among others for work.
- How would you describe your general style and what would do you wear on a daily basis?
My style is sadly not as adventurous as many but I like to keep things traditional, Two piece or three piece suit, Brown Brogues or Derby’s, Brown belt, Shirt nicely tailored and more likely than not a tie to finish it all off.
- Tell us about your role at Ferrari (Zagame), and perhaps the most exciting thing that has happened in the last couple of months.
I have been working in the Sales team at Zagame Ferrari now for four years and previously for Ferrari in Belfast (Northern Ireland) for 3 years. The most exciting thing that’s happened to me recently is a few months back I was lucky enough to win a regional sales competition for Ferrari Australasia, the prize was an all inclusive package to watch the Japanese GP in Suzuka in the Paddock club. Defiantly a career highlight to date!
- If your suit was a Ferrari which one would be it and why?
This is an interesting question, I like to think of my suit as a bit of al all-rounder, It can be one of many things depending on what you are looking for. Just recently I wore it to a friend’s wedding so if it were a Ferrari I think it would defiantly have to be something like the new Ferrari 812 Superfast, an incredible V12 Sports GT capable of doing 0-100 in under three seconds but also when required can drive like a classic GT taking you to your destination in absolute comfort and style.
