I love a city wedding. There’s something special about the buzz of people getting about their business whilst you celebrate with your nearest and dearest.
Chad and Josh opted for a city wedding, within the beautiful walls of Alfred Place, in Melbourne’s Paris-End. The grooms were looking for a “Black Tie look with a twist”, and I had just the perfect solution.
Lanificio Cerruti dal 1881 is one of my favourite mills to work with. Locate in Biella, northern Italy. Cerruti is the master of dictating fashion trends and creating the most beautiful cloth for formal events.
Rather than opting for the classic black or off-white dinner jacket with a bow tie, the gents wanted something that made statements but also had a lot of class about it. Cerruti’s iParty collection is all about the fun cloth that exudes style with a special twist.
I came across a Hounds-tooth cloth, which came in the French navy and burgundy, ideal for two grooms who wanted to complement one another whilst looking individual.
We styled each jacket with satin shawl lapels and a plain black twill trouser. We used the same satin from the lapels to make the bow ties, ensuring that the silks matched and both Chad and Josh wore our made to measure dinner shirt with black dress studs. It doesn’t get much more elegant than this.
Congratulations to the happy and handsome couple. It was such a pleasure to work with you on such a special day.
All the best
